You Blew It! sign to Triple Crown for new LP, share "Autotheology"
Following releases on Topshelf and Jade Tree, You Blew It! have now — like their past tourmates Sorority Noise just did — signed to Triple Crown Records for their next album. The album is called Abendrot, and it’s quite a change from the Kinsella-style emo of their earlier records. They talked to Stereogum about the change:
We just want it to be known right out of the gate that we’re changing gears a little bit and going in a different direction. I feel like of all the songs on the record, [“Autotheology”] is more obvious. It’s our big thing.
For the reason mentioned above, “Autotheology” is the album’s first single and you can hear it right now. It’s a slow-burner with biblical references in the lyrics and a climax that kinda reminds me of Manchester Orchestra. In some ways, it’s You Blew It!’s best single yet. Check it out:
Like the last album, it was produced by Into It. Over It.’s Evan Weiss, and it’ll be out on November 11. Pre-order it. As mentioned, the band is touring with Taking Back Sunday this year, including two sold-out shows at NYC’s Irving Plaza. All dates are listed, with the album trailer video, artwork and tracklist, below.
