Your Old Droog releases "You The Type"

Your Old Droog followed up his great 2017 album Packs and his collaborative EP with Wiki, What Happened To Fire?, with a new single for the Adult Swim single series. It’s called “You The Type,” and it has Droog in shit-talk mode over some psychedelic wah guitar and laid-back drums (courtesy of producer Mono En Stereo). Like on his previous 2017 releases, Droog’s style pulls from ’90s-era New York rap but his lyricism is too captivating and his delivery is too sharp to boil his sound down to his influences. You can hear echoes of the past but Droog is clearly making his mark in the present. Listen below.

Droog also appears on Wiki’s great 2017 album No Mountains In Manhattan, and earlier this year, Droog and Wiki played a collaborative show presented by BrooklynVegan.
