Zeta streaming 2 songs off new LP 'Magia Infinita,' touring the US

Venezuelan experimental post-hardcore band Zeta had a great but slept-on (at least in the US) 2016 album, L’Antiteoria del Todo, and they’re ready to follow it this year with Magia Infinita. After previewing some of the new songs in last year’s Audiotree session, they released the first single, “Sufrir,” back in November, and now they just put out a second single, “Completar.” Branching out from the prog/jazz/ska tendencies of the last album, the new songs are heavier on polyrhythmic percussion (that the band say are influenced by the Afro-Caribbean rhythms native to the Antillas Islands and Mochima Bay, located north of Anzoategui in Venezuela) and psychedelic lead guitar. There are some comparisons to At the Drive In to be made, but Zeta really make it their own, and even if you don’t speak Spanish, it’s easy to feel the emotion in their voices, which goes from a ’90s-screamo-style bark to somber clean singing. Listen to both new songs below and stay tuned for more info on the album.

Zeta have been on a US tour since earlier this month. All remaining dates are listed on the tour poster below.
