Brooklyn 1-800-Band release their new album High Beams this Friday (6/17) via Almost Ready Records. As mentioned, the band made the record with Mitch Easter (Let’s Active, REM, Game Theory, Pavement) who is the perfect man for the job for the band’s hooky, ringing, revved up (and distinctly American) brand of power pop that would sound particularly good blasting out of a top-down convertible this summer. A premiere of the whole album is in this post and you can listen below.

1-800-Band head out on tour next week, hitting cities on the East Coast and Midwest. They’ve also got a couple Brooklyn shows in July, including opening for The Muffs at Union Pool on July 15 (tickets) and an afternoon show at Bushwick’s Montana’s Trail House on July 23 with Such Hounds.
