10 New Rap and R&B Songs Out This Week

JPEGMAFIA – “COVERED IN MONEY!”

JPEGMAFIA is back with another single, and this one has a hard-hitting and aggressive first half, an auto-tuned R&B second half, and all kinds of totally weird, out-there sounds going on throughout. It’s awesome.

THE AVALANCHES – “RUNNING RED LIGHTS” FT. RIVERS CUOMO & PINK SIIFU

The Avalanches have shared new single “Running Red Lights,” which features Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo on lead vocal as well as Pink Siifu who raps a few lines from David Berman’s Purple Mountains song “Darkness and Cold.”

ROD WAVE – “PRAY 4 LOVE”

Rod Wave’s Ghetto Gospel was one of our favorite rap albums of 2019, and he’s now set to follow it with a new album, Pray 4 Love, on April 3 via Alamo/Geffen. The just-released title track is a warm, soulful dose of throwback rap.

RICO NASTY – “LIGHTNING”

Just about everything Rico Nasty touches turns to gold, and this is no different.

QUELLE CHRIS & CHRIS KEYS – “LIVING HAPPY” (ft. JOSEPH CHILLIAMS & CAVALIER)

Quelle Chris is releasing a new album, Innocent Country 2 (a collaboration with producer Chris Keys), on April 24 via Mello Music Group, and it features contributions from Tune-Yards’ Merrill Garbus, Earl Sweatshirt, Homeboy Sandman, Pink Siifu, billy woods, and more. New single “Living Happy” features Joseph Chilliams and Cavalier, and it’s a very promising dose of jazzy underground rap. The album also features recent single “Sudden Death.” Listen to both:

TEE GRIZZLEY – “PAYROLL” (ft. PAYROLL GIOVANNI)

Tee Grizzley and Payroll Giovanni team up for this booming, bassy, speaker-rattling jam.

YBN NAHMIR – “2 SEATER” (ft. G-EAZY & OFFSET)

YBN Nahmir continues to rise, and he today he returns with a very fun new single featuring star power from G-Eazy and Offset.

MAC MILLER – “RIGHT” & “FLOATING”

The late Mac Miller’s posthumous album Circles came out earlier this year, and now two more bonus tracks from the album have been given a digital release.

THUNDERCAT – “FAIR CHANCE” (ft. TY DOLLA $IGN & LIL B, prod. SOUNWAVE)

The latest taste of the upcoming Thundercat album is a sentimental ballad that pays tribute to the late Mac Miller. “This song is about Mac… when he passed it shook the ground for the artist community,” Thundercat says. “y’s a strong dude and when he heard the song he knew exactly what it should be. I was there when he recorded it. We talked about what it was, and he did what he felt was right to it, and I love what he did.”
