CODE ORANGE – “UNDERNEATH”

The first taste of Code Orange’s anticipated new album has arrived. Read more here.

TODAY IS THE DAY – “YOU’RE ALL GONNA DIE”

Heavy music legends Today Is The Day have detailed their first album in six years and released the second single. Read more here.

KVELERTAK – “CRACK OF DOOM” (ft. MASTODON’s TROY SANDERS)

As mentioned, Kvelertak‘s upcoming album Splid — their first with new vocalist Ivar Nioklaisen — includes a song featuring Mastodon’s Troy Sanders called “Crack of Doom,” and that song is out now. You can read more about it here.

SIGHTLESS PIT (LINGUA IGNOTA, THE BODY, FULL OF HELL) – “KINGSCORPSE”

Sightless Pit is the new collaborative project of Lee Buford (The Body), Kristin Hayter (Lingua Ignota), and Dylan Walker (Full of Hell), and the trio is set to release their debut album, Grave of a Dog, on February 21 via Thrill Jockey. The first single is “Kingscorpse,” which pretty much sounds like what you’d expect from these three: noisy, horrific, and strangely accessible.

PSALM ZERO – “ANIMAL OUTSIDE”

Psalm Zero have shared another track off their upcoming album Sparta, and this one finds the shapeshifting band in gloomy goth/doom territory.

WAKE – “IN THE LAIR OF THE RAT KINGS”

The second single off Wake’s anticipated new album Devouring Ruin is here, and this one’s even more intense than the killer lead single. You can hear it at MetalSucks.

DEATHWHITE – “PLAGUE OF VIRTUE”

Pittsburgh gothic metallers Deathwhite have shared another track off their upcoming sophomore album Grave Image, and it’s got all the weight and melancholy you’d expect from this band.

EARTH ROT – “DREAD REBIRTH”

Australian blackened death metallers Earth Rot are releasing their new album Black Tides of Obscurity on March 6 via Season of Mist, and the first single is “Dread Rebirth.” The band says this song “is the opening of the void. The simultaneous unlocked and unhinging of mind, both visually and musically.”

MIDNIGHT – “FUCKING SPEED AND DARKNESS”

Midnight have unleashed another track off their upcoming album Rebirth By Blasphemy, and basically all the ingredients for this one are right there in the title.

HYBORIAN – “PLANET DESTRUCTOR”

Kansas City sludge metallers are releasing their new album Volume II on March 20 via Season of Mist, and it’ll be accompanied by a 224-page sci-fi novel by guitarist/vocalist Martin Bush called The Traveller. The first single is the riffy, High on Fire-esque “Planet Destructor.”

END IT – “HARDHEAD”

Baltimore hardcore crew End It (featuring members of Wolvesblood, Piece Keeper, and Malicious Code) are releasing their One Way Track EP on January 17 via Flatspot Records, and the first taste is “Hardhead,” a 49-second dose of classic-style hardcore that’ll take you right back to the late ’80s.

PHIL DEMMEL (ex-MACHINEHEAD/VIO-LENCE) – “THE PERMANENT DECAY”

Phil Demmel of the reunited Vio-lence and formerly of Machine Head has shared a new song that he originally wrote for Machine Head’s 2018 album Catharsis. He ended up recording it with drummer Dave McClain (of the reunited Sacred Reich and also formerly of Machine Head), bassist David Ellefson (Megadeth), and vocalist Brandan Schieppati (Bleeding Through). Demmel also notes, “This song will be the 1st released Digitally under Demmel’s ‘Echoes of Reckoning’ umbrella of music, a collection of songs with various artists covering various genres. Digital Release date TBA.”

COME TO GRIEF – “RAPING THE WILLING”

Grief offshoot Come To Grief are releasing the Pray for the End EP on February 14 and the first taste is “Raping the Willing,” which finds the band sounding as doomy and vicious as ever.
