PRIMITIVE MAN - "THE LIFER"

Denver sludge greats Primitive Man have announced their first new album in three years, and you can read more about lead single "The Lifer" here.

VALKYRIE - "THE CHOICE"

Valkyrie, the Virginia heavy rock band led by former Baroness member Pete Adams and his brother Jake, have shared a second single off their new album Fear (due 7/24 via Relapse). As always, the Adams' brothers twin leads soar.

--

EXPANDER - "HYPER-FLESH AEDIFICIUM"

Austin metalpunks Expander will rerlease their new LP Neuropunk Boostergang (engineered and mixed by Converge's Kurt Ballou) on August 21 via Profound Lore, and the first taste is this whiplash-inducing rager.

--

THÆTAS - "DEARTH"

New York brutal death metallers THÆTAS are releasing a new album, Shrines (recorded, mixed, and mastered by Colin Marston), on June 26 via Maggot Stomp. Immerse yourself in the pure insanity of lead single "Dearth."

--

SKELETON - "THE SWORD"

Austin blackened punks Skeleton have shared the third single off their anticipated self-titled debut album (due 7/10 via 20 Buck Spin), and it's a ripper.

--

MACHINE HEAD - "STOP THE BLEEDING" (ft. JESSE LEACH) & "BULLETPROOF"

Bay Area thrash/groove metal vets Machine Head have responded to the times with a new two-song single, Civil Unrest, which includes the song "Stop The Bleeding" which features Killswitch Engage frontman Jesse Leach and comes with a video featuring footage of protests and police violence. Proceeds will benefit the Grassroots Law Project, who are working with the families of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery. Read more here.

--

MISERY SIGNALS - "RIVER KING"

Metalcore vets Misery Signals have shared the second single off Ultraviolet, their first album in seven years and first with original vocalist Jesse Zaraska since their 2004 debut. This one throws a little post-rock into the band's usual bludgeoning metalcore.

--

TEETH - "WRITHE"

TEETH (whose lineup includes former members of Every Time I Die, Dead and Divine, Straight Reads the Line, and more) have signed to New Damage Records and released a new metallic hardcore rager that's "directed towards the oppressors, the cowards, the abusers, and the people who violate your trust, and take advantage of it — whether it's crooked police, a family member, or a spouse."

--

SUNAMI - SUNAMI EP

San Jose hardcore band Sunami share members with Gulch and Hands of God, and after last year's three-song demo quickly made them the talk of certain corners of the hardcore community, they released this bone-crushing EP which only finds them sounding crisper and more intense. It features guest vocals by Drain frontman/Gulch drummer Sammy Ciaramitaro, Big Boy's Brandon Flores, and MH Chaos' Dave Chaos.

REGIONAL JUSTICE CENTER - "KKK TATTOO"

If the Sunami EP isn't enough brash, cop-hating hardcore for you, this new Regional Justice Center rager should do the trick. 100% of proceeds benefit The Bail Project.

--

MELVINS/MUDHONEY - "WALKING CRAZY" & "MY WAR" (BLACK FLAG COVER)

Here's two tracks from Melvins and Mudhoney's collab EP, including a ripping cover of Black Flag's "My War."

--

EN MINOR - "BLUE"

Former Pantera frontman Phil Anselmo has been talking about his gothy, Swans/Nick Cave/Tom Waits-inspired project En Minor for years, and after releasing their first single "On The Floor" last year, they've now announced their debut album, When The Cold Truth Has Worn Its Miserable Welcome Out, due September 4 via Housecore Records. Along with the announcement comes new single "Blue," which is in that same dark, gravelly, bluesy world.

--

AMNESIA SCANNER - "AS FLAT" (ft. CODE ORANGE)

Experimental electronic duo Amnesia Scanner's excellent new album Tearless is out today, including this genre-defying track with nu-metalcore band Code Orange.

--

FILTER - "THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS"

Filter were supposed to release a new album with their original lineup, but then PledgeMusic (where they were funding the album) shut down. Supposedly the band now has a new album called Murica coming, which may or may not include this song, which comes from the sessions of Richard Patrick and Brian Liesegang's scrapped reunion album. Richard says, "America is spinning out of control. It's never been more sick, unemployed and especially divided. I love my country so much that I'm willing to part with some fans that might not like my message to her."
