Innanet James Keep It Clean

17 New Songs Out Today

So many artists, so little time. Each week we review five new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, show recaps, track premieres, and more all day. That includes a lot of tour announcements, a list of tonight’s NYC shows, and NY shows that just went on sale. We publish a monthly playlist of some of our favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place…

EMINEM – “KILLSHOT” (MACHINE GUN KELLY DISS)

As you probably heard, Eminem dissed Machine Gun Kelly on his new album Kamikaze, and then MGK fired back on “Rap Devil.” Now Eminem has a response:

GUCCI MANE, BRUNO MARS & KODAK BLACK – “WAKE UP IN THE SKY”

Gucci Mane is prepping a new album called Evil Genius, and it seems likely that the album will feature this song, which is a very newsworthy collaboration between superstars (but also an unfortunate one because of the horrible things Kodak Black was accused of).

6LACK – “PRETTY LITTLE FEARS” (ft. J COLE)

Fast-rising Atlanta R&B singer 6LACK returned today with his new album East Atlanta Love Letter, and one of its most anticipated tracks was the J. Cole collaboration “Pretty Little Fears.” It ends up being a nice, chilled-out dose of R&B, and Cole’s verse pairs well with the atmospheric production. The album also features collabs with Future, Offset, and Khalid.

ROISIN MURPHY – “JACUZZI ROLLERCOASTER” & “CAN’T HANG ON”

Former Moloko singer and all-around cool person Roisin Murphy has released the third in her series of 12″ singles she’s making this year with producer Maurice Fulton. It might be the best yet. “Jacuzzi Rollercoaster” is slinky, submersive disco, while “Can’t Hang On” is a ’90s style banger you could imagine Moloko making. We’re not sure what a jacuzzi rollercoaster is, but we’re willing to ride.

VOIVOD – “INCONSPIRACY”

Voivod are back with another single off their upcoming album The Wake (which comes out next week via Century Media), and like a lot of Voivod songs, it’s split evenly between chugging thrash and Pink Floyd-like prog.

PALLBEARER – “RUN LIKE HELL” (PINK FLOYD COVER)

Speaking of metal and Pink Floyd… Pallbearer take this The Wall classic and turn it into something that sounds more like Iron Maiden. It’s cool stuff.

MODERN LIFE IS WAR – “INDIANAPOLIS TALKING BLUES”

Hardcore greats Modern Life Is War are back with the second installment of their Tribulation Worksongs series, which shows a quieter side of the band. One of the two songs, “Indianapolis Talking Blues,” has a video out now, and it sees MLIW taking on Slint-ish spoken word.

INNANET JAMES – “BETTER WITHOUT YOU” (ft. PUSHA T & KALLITECHNIS)

Maryland rapper Innanet James released his funky new album Keep It Clean today. The eight-song album is quick, easy, and fun to listen to, and not surprisingly, one of the most standout songs is the one with a great Pusha T verse.

WILLIAM BELL – “IN A MOMENT OF WEAKNESS”

William Bell is the latest artist to participate in Amazon Music’s “Produced By” series, and like Margo Price, John Prine and Al Green, he worked with producer Matt Ross-Spang. “This song that I recently wrote with Bill Elder is a slice of classic Memphis soul with a contemporary feel,” says Bell. “It was a joy to record it with Matt Ross-Spang at Sam Phillips Studio in Memphis.” Listen to “In a Moment of Weakness” here:

SWIZZ BEATZ – “PISTOL ON MY SIDE” (ft. LIL WAYNE)

The great hip hop producer Swizz Beatz is releasing Poison, his first full-length solo album in over a decade, on November 2, and it excitingly features a song with Kendrick Lamar, Jadakiss and Styles P, plus songs with Nas, Pusha T, Young Thug, 2 Chainz, Lil Wayne, and more. The song with Weezy is out now.

HALEY HEYNDERICKX & MAX GARCIA CONOVER – “SLOW TALKIN'”

Haley Heynderickx released the great I Need To Start A Garden back in March, and next month another project she worked on will be released. She & Maine folk singer Max Garcia Conover made an album together after meeting on a farm near Barcelona last year, and the resulting EP comes out October 5. The first single, “Slow Talkin’,” is a lovely folk tune that fans of Haley’s album should enjoy.

SIA & DOLLY PARTON – “HERE I AM”

Based on the YA novel by Julie Murphy, upcoming Netflix film Dumplin’ is about a teenager who’s obsessed with Dolly Parton, and Dolly has recorded some new material, as well as reworks of older songs, for its soundtrack, which is due out in November. The first track to be released from it is “Here I Am,” off Dolly’s 1971 album Coat of Many Colors, now a duet with Sia.

FAILURE – THE FURTHEST THING (EP STREAM)

Failure announced earlier this year that they’d be releasing a series of four EPs, culminating in their fifth full-length studio album. Today they shared the third EP in that series, The Furthest Thing.

DEAN WAREHAM VS CHEVAL SOMBRE – “IF ONLY I COULD FLY” (BLAZE FOLEY COVER)

Luna’s Dean Wareham and Cheval Sombre are releasing an album of “western dreampop covers.” Listen to their take on this Blaze Foley classic, and read more about it HERE.

HEALTH & SOCCER MOMMY – “MASS GRAVE” (PROD. CORIN RODDICK)

HEALTH, Soccer Mommy, and Purity Ring’s Corin Roddick teamed up for this industrial-pop banger, which we wrote more about here.

THRICE – “JUST BREATHE” (ft. EMMA RUTH RUNDLE)

Thrice’s new album Palms is out today, which means you can finally hear the Emma Ruth Rundle collaboration. Emma’s own new album is out today too.
