OCTAVIAN – “POISON” (ft. TAKE A DAYTRIP, OBONGJAYAR, SANTI)

UK rapper Octavian teams with “Mo Bamba” producers Take A Daytrip and Nigerian singers Obongjayarr and Santi for this murky, multi-cultural jam.

PROBLEM – “G SHIT”

Compton rapper Problem follows “Don’t Be Mad At Me” with this laid-back, blunted new song.

SoundCloud rap giant Lil Pump teams with Latin trap star Anuel AA for this very expensive looking and sounding trap song and video.

KALI UCHIS – TO FEEL ALIVE EP

Alt-pop/RR&B singer Kali Uchis had to delay her sophomore album, but in the meantime, she dropped this home-recorded four-song EP. Pretty cool stuff, and if this is what the home-recorded stuff sounds like, can’t wait to hear the “real” album.

JUICE WRLD – “RIGHTEOUS”

The first posthumous single by the late emo-rapper Juice WRLD has arrived.

TRAVIS SCOTT & KID CUDI – “THE SCOTTS”

Following Kid Cudi’s new trad-rap-inspired single “Leader of the Delinquents,” he teamed with Travis Scott to debut this poppier new song in Fortnite, and now you can hear it outside of Fortnite too.

Just like everybody else, Young Dolph’s been quarantining, as he tells you on this appealing yet depressing song about the coronavirus pandemic.

RAVYN LENAE – “REWIND”

RAJA KUMARI – “N.R.I.”

Indian American rapper Raja Kumari is releasing a new EP, The Bridge, this summer via Mass Appeal India, and it includes this absolute banger, about which Raja says, “This single stems from the duality of being from two different cultures, while being told you don’t quite belong in either of them. N.R.I. stands for non-resident of India, and is used as a derogatory term for “not really indian” for people born outside of India, in the diaspora. In America, I was asked to leave behind my culture and assimilate, and in India, I was told I didn’t belong to my culture because I wasn’t born here. I decided to re-claim this term and make it my own.”

RUM.GOLD – “WAITING FOR” (ft. JAMILA WOODS)

R&B singer rum.gold has tapped Jamila Woods for this dose of warm, laid-back soul, and fans of Jamila’s great 2019 album LEGACY! LEGACY! are not gonna wanna sleep on this. “‘Waiting for’ came from two people writing about two very different relationships and finding one phrase connecting the two experiences,” rum.gold told The FADER.

AB-SOUL – “DANGEROOKIPAWAA FREESTYLE”

TDE dropped a lot of new songs this week, beginning with Ab-Soul’s first song in four years, a head-nodding, soul-sampling dose of throwback rap.

ISAIAH RASHAD – “WHY WORRY”

After Ab-Soul released his first single in four years, fueled by a classic soul sample, Isaiah Rashad released his first single in four years, also fueled by a classic soul sample.

SIR – “RAPPER WEED” (ft. BOOGIE)

And the TDE drops kept coming. This one’s from Inglewood soul/R&B singer SiR, and it’s got a warm West Coast bounce and a verse from Compton’s Boogie. Okay, now do Kendrick Lamar next!

RIC WILSON & TERRACE MARTIN – “CHICAGO BAE” (ft. BJ THE CHICAGO KID)

Chicago rapper Ric Wilson is releasing a collaborative EP with jazz musician/frequent Kendrick Lamar producer Terrace Martin, They Call Me Disco, on May 8 via Free Disco/Sounds Of Crenshaw/EMPIRE. It includes this warm, soulful new single featuring guest crooner BJ the Chicago Kid.
