America woke up Sunday morning to devastating headlines of a terror attack that left 49 dead and more wounded at Orlando LGBTQ nightclub Pulse. The worst mass shooting in this country’s history was not just an act of senseless violence but an act of hatred toward the gay community during pride month.

NYC Pride shared a brief statement encouraging community members to attend a vigil outside of the historic Stonewall Inn Sunday night and added there are no plans to cancel any of the events for NYC’s annual Pride Week, which takes place June 19-26.

Pride Week’s biggest event, The March (aka the parade), starts at noon on Sunday, June 26 and will feature Jazz Jennings (TLC star and the youngest grand marshal in NYC Pride history), Subhi Nahas (co-founder of the first LGBT magazine in Syria), and Cecilia Chung (an internationally-recognized LGBT advocate) as grand marshals. The March starts at noon and goes from 36th Street & Fifth Avenue and towards Christopher & Greenwich streets.

Fergie will be the headline performer of this year’s Dance on the Pier which happens soon after the March at Pier 26, on Hudson River Park. DJs Ben Baker, Honey Soundsystem, Hoxton Whores and Alain Jackinsky will also perform. Tickets are on sale now. Also on Sunday, from 11 AM – 6 PM, is the Pridefest street fair.

There’s also “Teaze,” formerly Rapture on the River, which is an exclusive dance party for women which takes place on 25 June at 3pm on Hudson River Park’s Pier 26. This year’s DJs include Samantha Ronson (sister of Mark), Toni K and DJ Tatiana. More: “The Rally” on Friday, June 24 and Family Movie Night on June 21 (showing Toy Story) both of which are also at Pier 26.

For more event info check NYC Pride’s official events page and of course there will be plenty of unofficial events to enjoy as well.
