In addition to the Chance the Rapper album that dropped mid-day today, this week gave us new albums by Burna Boy, YBN Cordae, and BJ the Chicago Kid (that I reviewed for Notable Releases), as well as projects from Caleb Giles and Young Dolph/Key Glock (both embedded below). We also got new singles from Big Sean, DJ Shadow/De La Soul, Denzel Curry, Rico Nasty, IDK, Rick Ross/Drake, Pardison Fontaine/City Girls, and more. Read on for all the hip hop we posted on BV this week...

CHANCE THE RAPPER - "DO YOU REMEMBER" (ft. DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE)

Chance the Rapper's new album is out now, and one of the highlights is "Do You Remember," which was co-written and co-produced by Bon Iver's Justin Vernon and features the entire Death Cab For Cutie, including hook sung by frontman Ben Gibbard. Read more about the album -- and what about Death Cab had to say about the collab -- here.

BIG SEAN - "OVERTIME" & "SINGLE AGAIN"

Big Sean is back with his first new singles since 2017's I Decided. "Overtime" sees him spitting deft bars over a chilled-out beat, and "Single Again" is more on the R&B side, and it features backing vocals from Jhene Aiko and Ty Dolla $ign.

YBN CORDAE - "RNP" (ft. ANDERSON PAAK, prod. J COLE)

YBN Cordae's very solid debut album The Lost Boy came out today (read our review) and one of its highlights is the single "RNP," which came out earlier this week. Over a funky beat from J. Cole, Cordae and Anderson .Paak go back and forth, trading the mic every few words, and the whole thing is a very fun listen.

DJ SHADOW - "ROCKET FUEL" (ft. DE LA SOUL)

DJ Shadow's new song "Rocket Fuel" with De La Soul is the turntablist great's first new song in two years, and it's out today via the Madden NFL 20 soundtrack. Though he's known for mood pieces, "Rocket Fuel" is about as upbeat as it gets, which should work well in a Madden game. "'Rocket Fuel' and the collab encapsulates so much of what I love about hip-hop...energy, beats, and fun," says Shadow. The song is also set to appear on DJ Shadow's upcoming album, which is due this year.

RICO NASTY - "TIME FLIES"

Rico Nasty follows this year's Anger Management with the new single "Time Flies," out today via the Madden NFL 20 soundtrack. While the last album saw her mostly exploring her aggressive, punky rap side, "Time Flies" sees her making bright, auto-tuned pop. She's great at this kind of thing too.

--

DENZEL CURRY - "SHAWSHANK"

Denzel Curry's new song "Shawshank" for the Madden NFL 20 soundtrack is an especially great one. It might have been written with the video game in mind, but it would work perfectly on either of his two recent albums, TA13OO and ZUU.

IDK - "24"

Maryland rapper IDK is gearing up to release his new album Is He Real, and while we wait for that, he has shared another new promising track, "24."

--

RICK ROSS - "GOLD ROSES" (ft. DRAKE)

Rick Ross has released another single off his upcoming album Port of Miami 2, and this one features his longtime pal/collaborator Drake. It's a ballad, and the pair still have the chemistry they had on their classic collabs.

--

PARDISON FONTAINE - "PEACH" (ft. CITY GIRLS)

Cardi B collaborator Pardison Fontaine is back with a new single, and this one features the unstoppably rising City Girls. You can probably tell from that artwork what "peach" is a reference to in this case.

--

FUTURE - "UNDEFEATED" (ft. LIL KEED)

Auto-tune trap giant Future remains as insanely prolific as ever, and is back with yet another 2019 single, "Undefeated." This one features Young Thug associate Lil Keed.

--

G&D (GEORGIA ANNE MULDROW & DUDLEY PERKINS) - "P.A.L."

Georgia Anne Muldrow and Dudley Perkins have shared another song off their upcoming album as G&D, Black Love & War. The song title stands for "Post Apocalyptic Love," and Dudley Perkins says this of the soulful song: "We have to be stronger as a unit. The male and female. The king and queen actually gotta come together during this war. Black love is essential in these post-apocalyptic times."

--

CALEB GILES - UNDER THE SHADE (ALBUM STREAM)

Experimental NYC rapper Caleb Giles (who also plays sax in Standing on the Corner) is back with a new solo album, Under The Shade, which features Pink Siifu, duendita, and Cleo Reed. If you dig the avant, collage-like rap of MIKE and Earl Sweatshirt, you'll probably dig this too.

--

CITY MORGUE - "DAWG"

We already knew NYC rap duo City Morgue were big Slipknot fans, but they get even more metal than usual on the new rager "Dawg," which is yet another example of the new generation's ability to make rap-rock without the cheese.

--

NICKI MINAJ - "SUGE" (REMIX of DABABY song)

DaBaby's "Suge" is deservedly one of the year's biggest rap songs, and as is often the case when an upstart rapper has a huge hit, a much bigger and more established rapper wants to get in on it. So, Nicki Minaj offered up her own "Suge" verse, and it's pretty cool to hear her do so.

--

ALAN WALKER x A$AP ROCKY - "LIVE FAST"

A$AP Rocky has unfortunately been charged with assault in Sweden, but in much better news, EDM producer Alan Walker dropped a new song for the gaming network PUBG Mobile that features some fiery new bars from Rocky.

--

BLACK MILK - "BLACK NASA"

Detroit rapper Black Milk is releasing his new EP DiVE on August 2 via Mass Appeal/Computer Ugly, and following lead single "If U Say" (ft. BJ the Chicago Kid, who has a new album out today), he has shared "Black NASA." This one features a hook by fellow Detroit artist Sam Austins, and Black Milk says the song "represents a place where I—and many people of color are from. We have to make something out of nothing, as opposed to people who are handed the tools for success."

--

TAYLOR MCFERRIN - "MEMORY DIGITAL" (ft. ANNA WISE)

Taylor McFerrin, who's opening Kamasi Washington's BrooklynVegan-presented Jersey City show, has shared a second single off his upcoming album Love's Last Chance. This one features frequent Kendrick Lamar collaborator Anna Wise, and it's a smooth, catchy dose of jazz-soul.

--

JIDENNA - "SUFI WOMAN" & "TRIBE"

Jidenna, who plays a free show in Prospect Park tonight, is back with two new songs. No word on a new album yet, but maybe this is the beginning of the rollout? Stay tuned.

--

YOUNG DOLPH & KEY GLOCK - DUM AND DUMMER

Two Memphis rappers, Young Dolph and Key Glock, teamed up for this new project that features a mix of collaborations and solo cuts across its 22 tracks.
