Williamsburg's 50 Kent is seeing some film fun this summer, in addition to concerts, with Nitehawk Cinema's third annual free outdoor screening series starting in July. Nitehawk is teaming with BuzzFeed to present two FREE films under the stars: Billy Madison on July 7 and Mallrats on August 4, both special 20th anniversary screenings.
Stars Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes will be doing a Q&A ahead of the Mallrats screening (8/4). Doors are at 5 PM and the movies begin at dusk. Again those screenings are free.
Also, Nitehawk's 2015 Shorts Festival is coming up! The five-day event highlighting the short film work of local artists and filmmakers will run November 11 - November 15, with special brunches, parties and Signature Series programming.
