Kvelertak Splid

6 New Metal Songs Out This Week

There’s less stuff out this week because of the holiday, but there’s still two anticipated metal albums (Red Death and Cattle Decapitation, both of which I wrote about in Notable Releases), the highly anticipated new Kvelertak single (their first with their new singer), and more. Read on for all the heavy songs we posted on BV this week…

KVELERTAK – “BRATEBRANN”

Kvelertak have announced their first album with their new singer, and this is the first single off of it. Read more here.

NERO DI MARTE – “L’ARCA”

Italian shapeshifting experimental metal band Nero Di Marte have shared another song off their upcoming album Immoto (due 1/24 via Season of Mist). Like the previous single, “L’Arca” covers a lot of ground, and manages to be both gorgeously melodic and menacingly dark.

CHARGER – “WATCH YOUR BACK”

Rancid bassist Matt Freeman’s band Charger are following this past spring’s self-titled EP with the “Watch Your Back” 12″ single on Pirates Press Records, and that new song is streaming now. Like the EP, “Watch Your Back” finds Freeman & co mixing in some Motorhead worship with classic street punk, and here’s what Freeman says about it: “The impetus to Watch Your Back is there is surveillance everywhere. Whether it’s the government, tech companies, or your neighbors, you have to watch your back.”

RED DEATH – SICKNESS DIVINE

Read more about it in Notable Releases.

CATTLE DECAPITATION – DEATH ATLAS

Red more about it in Notable Releases.

PRONG – AGE OF DEFIANCE EP

30 years into his career, Tommy Victor still sounds pretty great.
