7 New Metal Songs Out This Week

This week gave us new music from from Saint Vitus, Boris, Earth, Cave-In, Torche, and more. Read on for all the metal (and metal-adjacent) songs we posted on BV this week…

SAINT VITUS – SAINT VITUS (ALBUM STREAM)

Doom legends Saint Vitus are releasing their first album with original vocalist Scott Reagers in 24 years this week. It’s self-titled (and not to be confused with their self-titled 1984 debut), and it sees the band mining very familiar territory, and they still do this kind of thing very well.

BORIS / CRYPT CITY / RELAXER / LISA BELLA DONNA SPLIT

Boris are touring Japan this month with Crypt City, Relaxer, and Lisa Bella Donna, and they’ve got a four-way split to celebrate. Read more here.

EARTH – “THE MANDRAKE’S HYMN”

Earth have shared a third single from their upcoming album Full Upon Her Burning Lips, and it’s a fine dose of the kind of mind-bending, hypnotic psychedelia that this band does so well.

BARONESS – “THROW ME AN ANCHOR”

Baroness have unleashed another taste of their anticipated new album, which we wrote more about here.

CAVE IN – “SHAKE MY BLOOD”

Cave In are releasing their new album Final Transmission — which features the last-ever recordings by the late Caleb Scofield — on June 7 via Hydra Head, and today they released its second single, “Shake My Blood.” This one is on the band’s spacey, atmospheric side, and it’s another excellent taste of this bittersweet album.

TORCHE – “SLIDE”

“Slide” is the first single off Torche’s anticipated new album Admission, which you can read more about here.

SLIPKNOT – “UNSAINTED”

Slipknot officially announced their first album in five years and the lead single is out now.
