Selene Vigil Tough Dance

7 Year Bitch's Selene Vigil releasing new solo LP 'Tough Dance' (stream a track)

Back in 2015, ’90s riot grrrl vets 7 Year Bitch unearthed the live album Live at Moe that was recorded in 1996. They told Billboard that reunion shows weren’t planned, but that they weren’t necessarily ruled out either. Fingers still crossed that they might return one day, but in the meantime, singer Selene Vigil is releasing her first solo album in… seven years (it follows her 2010 debut, That Was Then). It’s called Tough Dance, and Selene co-wrote it with Ben London and recorded it with guitarist/producer Ryan Leyva (Brent Amaker & the Rodeo, Full Toilet), bassist Drew Church (Mark Lanegan, Jeremy Enigk), and drummer Davey Brozowski (Modest Mouse, Broken Bells). Selene is self-releasing it on November 17.

We’re premiering the lead single “My Nightmare,” which Selene provides the following quote about: “Playing music with these gentlemen has helped me to wake up from My Nightmare.” The song has guitar flourishes that you could imagine soundtracking a Western and plenty of pure punk aggression.
