10 New Songs Out Today
So many artists, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we'd call "indie," and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. In these concertless times, that includes daily livestreams and live concert videos we love. We publish a monthly playlist of some of our favorite tracks. Here's a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place…
CHRONIXX - "SAME PRAYER" (ft. KABAKA PYRAMID)
Modern-day reggae great Chronixx has shared a second single off his highly anticipated sophomore album Dela Splash. It's a more chiilled-out sounding song than the first single, and Chronixx says, "'Same Prayer' is, in part, a prayer for the younger generation to reflect on internally. It’s also a reminder that there is a greater power directing things in the physical space. Instead of looking for solutions in our material lives, we can both reach out to this higher power and look deep within ourselves."

SKYZOO - "A SONG FOR FATHERS"
"With 'A Song For Fathers,' I wanted to make a theme song for fellow dads to celebrate on Father’s Day, as well as every day that we may need to hear some encouragement," says Brooklyn rap vet Skyzoo. "In our current climate as a people, the reality of families being left without a father is deafening. Due to all of the social injustices that are ringing louder than ever, we’re seeing the impact of fathers being stripped away from their loved ones." It's off his upcoming project Milestones, which comes out Friday (6/19) via Mello Music Group.

HONEY RADAR - "WIND-UP MAN" (THE MONKEES COVER)
Philly indie rockers Honey Radar have a compilation of rarities that were originally released via Chunklet, titled Sing the Snow Away, that's out this week. Included is this cover of The Monkee's "Wind-Up Man." Say the band: "The Monkees were the first group I was obsessed with when I was a little kid. They had a bizarre TV special in 1969, after their show was canceled, called 33 1/3 Revolutions Per Monkee. It's almost unwatchable, worse than Magical Mystery Tour, but has some songs in it that I like, and 'Wind-up Ma' always sounded to me like it would make a good straight-forward rock song. I wanted to record it for years, and we played it live for a while in 2015 and 2016."

BIBIO - "OAKMOSS"
Bibio has shared this live-in-the-studio version of "Oakmoss" which is from his new album, Sleep On The Wing, “‘Oakmoss’ has been my favourite track on [Sleep On The Wing] for quite some time, to me it feels like a folkier cousin of ‘Raincoat’" says Bibio. "It was one of those tracks that came together quite quickly and fluently. It’s a lot of fun to play (on the various instruments used in the song), and it was a lot of fun to record.”
