Eclecticism is always an admirable virtue on a live bill, and such was on full display at The Acheron last night (3/24). The Bushwick venue played host to groove-oriented hardcore team A Life Once Lost (sounding more groove than hardcore nowadays) along with industrial one man crew Author & Punisher, and riveting cellist Helen Money.

Though each set had its merits, the most fascinating performance of the evening was definitely Author & Punisher. The one-man industrial doom/drone outfit, who wears its Godflesh influence proudly, fashioned machined-equipment as sample/synth triggers, creating a live show that is industrial stylistically and aesthetically. Giant knobs, sliders and clamps abound on his fascinating rig, which blasted out additional industro-doom thanks to the secondary PA carted in for the performance.
