AC/DC brought their current tour to NYC’s Madison Square Garden last night (9/14). It was their first time in NYC since Brian Johnson had to stop touring and Axl Rose took over the lead vocal spot. Not everyone is happy with the Guns N’ Roses frontman’s new job, but some say he’s doing great. Here’s Newsday‘s take on the MSG show:

Questions about how well Rose could handle the material were quickly answered, as he powerfully delivered classics like “Back in Black” and older cuts like “Rock ’n’ Roll Damnation” that the band rarely has touched since original lead singer Bon Scott died in 1980.

However, make no mistake, Rose was not the focus of the “Rock or Bust” show. [Angus] Young was. Rose would settle into the background when he wasn’t singing, letting Young have the spotlight to himself.

Our distinctly-dressed guitar hero Angus Young is, as you probably know, the only original member of AC/DC remaining, and it’s been that way since his brother Malcom had to take a break from the band in 2014. In addition to the songs mentioned in that review quoted above, Axl/DC gave us “Sin City,” “Highway to Hell,” “For Those About to Rock (We Salute You),” “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap,” “If You Want Blood (You Got It),” and plenty of others. Watch videos of the band playing all those songs at MSG and check out the full setlist below. Pictures of the show are in the gallery above.
