Aesop Rock announces tour with Homeboy Sandman, who has a new album and Edan-produced single

Indie-rap mainstay Aesop Rock will release his new album The Impossible Kid on April 29 via Rhymesayers and he’s set to tour in support of it. He’l be joined by frequent collaborator Rob Sonic and DJ Zone, and Homeboy Sandman is opening all dates.

They’ll hit NYC on June 13 at Irving Plaza. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (3/25) at 10 AM. All dates are listed below.

Aesop Rock appears on the upcoming Open Mike Eagle & Paul White album that’s due out this Friday. He’s on the song “I Went Outside Today,” which is streaming now and you can listen to that below. He also just did a freestyle over Pusha T‘s Timbaland-produced “Untouchable” that was on Pusha’s late 2015 album Darkest Before Dawn. You can listen to that below too. Lastly, Aesop has an ongoing video series with a cartoon bear therapist on Funny or Die, and the third episode is out now. Watch below (via Pitchfork). And in case you missed it, the video for “Rings” off Aesop’s new album is below too.

As for opener Homeboy Sandman, who released the collaborative EP Lice with Aesop Rock late last year, he recently announced his new album, Kindness For Weakness. It’s due out May 6 via Stones Throw, and it features Aesop Rock on the closing track. The first single is “Talking (Bleep),” which was produced by Edan. Check it out, with the artwork and tracklist, below. Production credits — including Jonwayne, Georgia Anne Muldrow, RJD2, Large Professor, Paul White, and more — are here.
