Alamo Drafthouse Season Pass

Alamo Drafthouse testing out MoviePass replacement in NYC

If you still miss the days of MoviePass‘s peak popularity, movie-geek friendly chain Alamo Drafthouse has another option for you. They’ve been testing their own version of MoviePass, which is called Season Pass, and Tom’s Guide reports that beta testing has begun in the chain’s NYC location in Downtown Brooklyn. Along with Brooklyn, testing is currently limited to Denver, CO, Littleton, CO, Kansas City, MO, Raleigh, NC, Yonkers, NY, Austin, TX, New Braunfels, TX, and San Antonio, TX.

Prices are still being tested for Season Pass, with beta users reporting options of between $19.99 and $29.99 per month, which allows you to see up to seven movies per week. Tickets are available seven days in advance, and 3D movie tickets will be subject to an extra $1.99 fee. You are, of course, limited to use Season Pass at Alamo Drafthouse locations. Sign up to participate in the testing here.

Meanwhile, the chain is set to open two new NYC locations, in lower Manhattan and Staten Island, by the end of the year. The Staten Island Drafthouse will include a kung-fu inspired bar, The Flying Guillotine, in partnership with Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA.
