Alcest share "Protection" off new album

Just earlier this week, we included Alcest‘s upcoming album Spiritual Instinct in our list of 20 metal albums we’re anticipating before 2019 ends, and now the first single off the album has been shared. It’s called “Protection,” and it’s a meaner Alcest than we’ve heard in a while, with tough, pulverizing riffs adding some extra weight that their recent albums tended to lack. And even still, their atmospheric and melodic side remains intact and adds some beauty to the aggression. It’s a great song, and it’s got us even more excited for this album than we were when we first made that list. Listen below.
