Aldous Harding announces 4AD debut, 'Party,' shares song ft. Perfume Genius

Back in 2014, New Zealand’s Aldous Harding released a very good debut album that pulled from ’60s / early ’70s loner folk. Flying Nun gave the album a US release last year, and she since signed to another legendary indie label, 4AD, who will release that album’s followup. Aldous’ sophomore LP is called Party and it drops on May 19 via her new label home. It includes recent single “Horizon” and the brand new single “Imagining My Man.” It’s a truly stunning song, that’s interrupted by these little shouts of “hey!” that make for quite the contrast with the otherwise quiet song. It’s the kind of song with the power to leave an impression on you on your first listen. It’s also got guest vocals from Mike Hadreas, better known as Perfume Genius. And, like the rest of the album, it was produced by PJ Harvey collaborator John Parish. If you dig PJ, there’s a good chance you’ll dig this too. Watch the “Imagining My Man” video below.

Aldous has also added several dates to her tour, which hits Brooklyn on March 30 at Rough Trade with Air Waves and Katie Von Schleicher. Tickets for that show are still available. Updated dates are listed below.
