ALICE BOMAN – TOP 10 SONGS OF 2022

Jenny Hval — “Year Of Love”
I think this is the song that I have listened to most times this year. I just love everything about it. The mood it puts me in, the sounds and the melodies, the moment the chorus begins — how it expands.

Air Waves — Wait
This song (and the whole album) feels like a hidden gem. It feels so sincere and raw — in it’s best sense. Another favorite song on the album is Alien featuring Cats McCombs — the build-up to that amazing chorus.

Cornelia Murr — “Changed”
Such a sparkling EP through and through. Hard to choose a favorite song but I love the playfulness and melodies of the track Changed. And I really love Cornelias singing.

Ebo Krdum — “Al-Habeeba”
Putting on this song (and album) when I want to move. So good.

Perfume Genius — “4 Minute Warning”
The live cover of this Radiohead song is so special. The intimate yet spacious feeling and the surrounding sounds.

Weyes Blood — “It’s Not Just Me, It’s Everybody”
Such a beautiful and timeless song. The lyrics are so good and really captures our times. And oh the string arrangements. Not to mention Weyes Bloods voice; so powerful.

Sam Burton — “Leaving Here Still”
Talking about a powerful voice and a timeless feeling, this song and it’s soundscape is so beautiful. I first heard this song sitting in a car in LA at dusk and it was such a great fit.

Hannes, waterbaby — “Stockholmsvy”
A friend of mine sent me this song and it’s adorable. Very laidback yet groovy.

Weils — “The House of The Rising Sun”
A beautiful 13 minute track full of uplifting flutes and rhythms that puts me in such a meditative state. Listen to the whole album — such a beautiful soundscape.

Joni Mitchell — “Both Sides Now” live at the 2022 Newport Folk Festival
I mean, this performance is just so powerful and hit me so hard. I cried so much. A beautiful moment captured on film — watch it on YouTube.
