Earlier this year, alt-j were teasing their upcoming third album, including pictures of the massive string section they recorded with, and today the album is finally announced. It's called Relaxer, and it comes out on June 9 via Canvasback. The first single is opening track "3WW," a soft, minimal song where you can hear the fruits of that string section's labor. It's not really anything like either of their other two albums -- check it out for yourself below.

The band have several festival dates coming up, most of which are overseas. They will be in the US for a bit though, including a stop in NYC to co-headline day two (7/29) of the Panorama festival with Tame Impala. Other artists playing that day include Belle & Sebastian, Nicolas Jaar, Vince Staples, Mitski, Pinegrove, and more. All dates are listed below.
