American Football announce first album since 1999 debut, share new song

Mike Kinsella already released a great Owen album this year, and now he will release the first American Football album since their 1999 debut on October 21 via Polyvinyl (!!!). It’s self-titled and/or LP2 (Sunny Day Real Estate would like a word), and you can pre-order it.

The lead single is “I’ve Been So Lost For So Long,” which basically sounds like the kind of stuff Mike’s written for Owen recently, but with those sparkly clean American Football guitars fully intact. It’s really good, and you can listen to it right here:

The band also announced some shows, including a huge NYC gig on January 28, 2017 at Terminal 5. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (8/26) at noon with an AmEx presale beforehand. All dates are listed below.
