American Football share song ft. Hayley Williams, announce tour
American Football‘s anticipated new album LP3 features guest vocals by Paramore’s Hayley Williams, Slowdive’s Rachel Goswell, and Land of Talk’s Elizabeth Powell, and now the song with Hayley Williams is out. It’s called “Uncomfortably Numb,” and it’s more than a clever Pink Floyd reference, it’s also one of the catchiest songs in American Football’s discography. Mike Kinsella and Hayley duet with each other, and you’ll find yourself singing both of their lines after just a few listens. The song comes with a video directed by skate photographer Atiba Jefferson, and starring Workaholics‘ Blake Anderson, pro skater Paul Rodriguez, and Samhain drummer London May. Check it out below.
The band also announced a tour, including a hometown album release show in Chicago, appearances at the Treefort and FORM Arcosanti festivals, and more (they’re the first act announced for FORM). There’s an artist presale bundle for each date available now that comes with a copy of the album.
There’s a newly-added Brooklyn date happening May 24 at Warsaw. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (1/25) at 10 AM with a venue presale starting Thursday (1/24) at 10 AM. All dates are listed below.
