Anamanaguchi prep new LP '[USA]', share "Lorem Ipsum (Arctic Anthem)," touring

Long-running 8-bit warriors (and viral Game of Thrones video lyric-writers) Anamanaguchi have signed with Polyvinyl and will release a new album, [USA], on October 25. It’s their first studio album in six years. “While fantasy can be an amazing way to experience beauty, happiness… feelings in general, it often stands tension with reality: in our interactions with other people and the world we live in,” says the band’s Ary Warnaar. “[USA] is inspired by the struggles of acknowledging the distinction between the two… a process so many of us seem to be undergoing.”

First single “Lorem Ipsum (Arctic Anthem)” takes its title from everyone’s favorite dummy text and is indeed anthemic (and a banger). Warnaar says it “deals with environmental forces so immense as to be beyond our control, but not our ability to notice and grasp the effects they bear on us.” Watch the lyric video for that below.

Anamanaguchi will be on tour this fall, including stops in Dallas, Houston, Austin, New Orleans, St. Louis, Columbus, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Chicago, Grand Rapids, and Detroit. All dates are listed below.
