Ani DiFranco's prolific output has included over 20 albums over the past 17 years on her label, Righteous Babe Records. Her latest, Binary, comes out June 9 and is available for preorder through PledgeMusic. Binary includes contributions from DiFranco's longtime rhythm section, bassist Todd Sickafoose and drummer Terence Higgins, and it introduces some new collaborators as well, including funk saxophonist Maceo Parker, David Bowie's longimte bassist Gail Ann Dorsey, and Justin Vernon of Bon Iver. Vernon contributes vocals to the new song "Zizzing," which you can listen to below.

DiFranco will also perform at this year's 6th American Association of Independent Music's (A2IM) Libera Awards, on June 8 at Playstation Theater, and be awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award. Like last year, Ted Leo will host, and Talib Kweli, Nick Lowe (who is being awarded the Independent Icon Award), Twin Peaks, and Nick Hakim will also perform. Platinum, gold, and silver supporter tickets, which run from $225-$5000 and include a three-course meal, are now sold out, but GA tickets are on sale. A2IM’s Indie Week is a music industry conference for independent labels and service providers, mostly made up of panel discussions and workshops. It runs this year from June 5-8.
