Anthony Green has been busy lately. Circa Survive recently put out two great EPs, Anthony's psychedelic side project Fuckin Whatever (with Taking Back Sunday members) put out a new single last week, and now Anthony has announced a new solo album, Boom. Done., due July 22 via Born Losers Records (pre-order). According to press materials for the album, Anthony began writing these songs after leaving rehab in 2020, and "the album captures Anthony’s journey to recovery: through his struggles with addiction to the point of losing his life for up to 8 minutes, and his diagnosis of bipolar disorder." Anthony himself says:

I did not want to live the remainder of my life as an addict. Navigating around my insecurities in an unhealthy way has been a big part of my life, and writing the record was a way to cope. It’s not about my relationship with drugs or people, it’s about my relationship with myself. By the mercy of my friends and teachers I’ve made it out of the darkest time, and this group of songs captures the essence of that journey. Someone once told me to share what makes you feel most embarrassed or ashamed and the shame will die in the light of exposure. These songs are a part of that exposure.

Anthony made the album with his backing band The High & Driving Band, which includes Good Old War members Keith Goodwin and Tim Arnold, and it was produced by Keith and mixed by Will Yip. Along with the announcement comes two singles, "Don't Dance" and "Maybe This Will Be The One," both of which are multi-layered, horn-fueled songs, and which find Anthony's songwriting at its most personal and impactful. The former's a climactic art rock song, while the latter's in sprawling, jazzy territory, and both songs feel immediately on par with Anthony's best material. Check out both below.

Anthony is also gearing up for The Carousel Tour with Tim Kasher and Laura Jane Grace, which will find all three of them joining each other during each set. Support comes from Oceanator, Mikey Erg, and Home Is Where, varying by date, and that includes NYC-area shows at Asbury Park's Stone Pony on May 6 with Mikey Erg and Irving Plaza on May 9 with Home Is Where.
