Aparna Nancherla cancels remainder of tour

Aparna Nancherla canceled a lot of her 2018 tour last week due to a “big career opportunity.” She has now canceled the rest of the tour — including the Brooklyn show at Bell House on October 14 — for the same reason, as she wrote in a note on social media:

After careful consideration and due to the aforementioned project I am working on that’s still under wraps, I have decided to cancel the remainder of tour dates until future notice, as those of you with tickets to shows have already learned. With my current schedule, I am not able to put the time, attention, or the energy into the shows that i would want to provide to audiences and fans coming out to see them. I am truly disappointed to not get to come through your cities this Summer/Fall, but I plan on rescheduling them for the future when it best makes sense, and I truly appreciate your understanding and encouragement.

This probably means Aparna also may not be at upcoming editions of her, Jo Firestone and Maeve Higgins’ weekly Brooklyn comedy show, Butterboy — Maeve was the only one of the three hosting this past week — but check their Twitter for updates. We’re excited to learn what this project is.
