Arcade Fire debut new song; Will Butler reworks Roy Orbison song for 4th of July

Will Butler is busy right now with Arcade Fire, who are releasing their new album out at the end of the month, but he just shared a new solo song. “Anything You Want / 4 July 17” was released on Independence Day and clearly has themes of that American holiday running through its veins and lyrics. It’s also a rewrite of Roy Orbison’s 1989 hit “You Got It,” turning it into a jazzy solo piano number, and you can listen to it below.

Meanwhile, Arcade Fire played an intimate gig at London’s York Hall on July 4, where their set included the debut of Everything Now song “Chemistry.” As NME points out, they’re also selling a t-shirt that is a riff on Kylie and Kendall Jenner’s derided “rock tee” fashion line (that got hit with a cease-and-desist order from The Doors).
