Win Butler recently broke the news that Arcade Fire are working on a new album, across lengthy Instagram posts, which read in part:

Regine and I have been writing for the last couple of years, and the band was a few months into recording new material when COVID-19 hit…We had been exploring a lot of lyrical and musical themes that feel almost eerily related to what is happening now (we actually have a song called Age of Anxiety written a year ago for Christ’s sake - ha ha ). Needless to say, the writing has intensified, and the work is flowing out... It is challenging as ever, and with just as much purpose.

[...] For my part, I’m pouring my heart, soul and all of my precious time into the music and recording. (Not closing the door on doing some online performances, but it feels like many artists have that covered).

Win says the music is coming "eventually...not soon," but as someone on the r/ArcadeFire subreddit points out, Win just previewed some new music from the album on his Instagram story. I don't wanna make a judgement from a short, low-quality teaser like this, but it sounds a little bit like old Arcade Fire, soooo... that's exciting! Listen at Win's story or in the archived video rip from Reddit below.

For more Arcade Fire, we recently included Neon Bible in a list of 20 essential Merge Records releases that aren’t ‘Funeral’ or ‘In the Aeroplane Over the Sea,' and we recently posted live videos of them at Coachella 2011 and Lowlands Festival 2005.

I'm seriously losing my mind over these, picking up on them Suburbs vibes from r/arcadefire

And if you missed them, here are Win's announcement posts:
