* David Byrne has been pretty quiet thus far in the fight to save CBGB, but according to one story, CBGB “has drawn support from Tommy Ramone, Blondie’s Debbie Harry, the Talking Heads’ David Byrne and E Street Band guitarist Steven van Zandt, who is trying to mediate.”
* According to the amNewYork newspaper, “members of the Talking Heads” will be at the rally.
* One commenter in yesterday’s post asked, “is it true that Bad Brains with Henry Rollins is playing this?”
* The Bouncing Souls are among the confirmed performers at today’s rally. Productshop was at their CBGB benefit show last night where they announced, “Well tonight we were going to play a Bad Brains song. Actually, we were this close to having HR join us tonight, but it fell through so we’re not going to play it tonight. But hey, tomorrow we’re playing a fifteen minute set in Washington Square Park to save this club and HR will definitely be onstage with us.”
