I’ve been listening to the new album “Say No To Being Cool: Say Yes to Being Happy” (STREAMING AT AOL) by San Diego indie pop band Softlightes – and like their live show that I saw in the basement of Midway during CMJ, the album is almost instantly enjoyable. More importantly it seems to get better with time.

The CMJ show (Nov 4, 2006) was the Modular Records showcase. Softlightes played right before Van She.

No new upcoming East Coast dates for Softlightes yet, but Modular Records is having a party at Galapagos in Brooklyn on Feb. 22nd.
