The Pipettes add 2nd NYC show ++ Jamie Woon added to Bowery

PipettesThere’s no denying that The Pipettes & Amy Winehouse make a great double bill, but my guess is that Amy’s presence on the bill, mixed with a major-label-ticket-buy-out, had most to do with the March 13th Bowery show selling out so quickly. Regardless, it’s good news that the Pipettes have added a 2nd show one day earlier (March 12) @ Luna Lounge in Brooklyn. Tickets are on sale, though as Music Snobbery points out you shouldn’t get one if you’re planning on going to the sold-out Good-Bad-Queen show at Webster Hall which is on the same day.

JAmie WoonIn related news, the sold out Bowery show is now even better (or worse depending on how you look at it). London singer-singwriter Jamie Woon is playing the show too.

Jamie Woon writes and sings songs. Slow songs, fast songs, happy songs, and sad songs; songs about the world and songs about himself; songs about the weather and songs about the future. Sometimes he sounds like an R&B singer, sometimes like a folk singer; sometimes he sounds like Prince, sometimes like Thom Yorke. [Stylus]

He covered “Wayfaring Stranger” as his first single. It was remixed by Stitch (not to be confused with Switch) & Burial for the CD too. The regular & Burial versions are streaming at his MySpace. The regular version is also in the video below…

This older MP3 I found on the Archive, is more smooth jazz….
