POPPED! MUSIC FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES LINEUP / JUNE 20-22, 2008

VAMPIRE WEEKEND, GOGOL BORDELLO, DANIEL JOHNSTON, SLICK RICK TO HEADLINE

In its second year, the POPPED! Music Festival has grown to a three-day event, with a focus on diverse talent and sustainability. The POPPED! Music Festival is dedicated to bringing national attention to a current music hotbed, Philadelphia, and keeping the city beautiful by committing to being green.

The festival will take place over three days, June 20, 21and 22 in various venues across Philadelphia. POPPED! kicks off with iconic rapper Slick Rick and his full band on Friday June 20th at the historic Trocadero Theater. The Troc is centrally located in the Chinatown district. Saturday will feature the likes of indie darlings Vampire Weekend, gypsy punks Gogol Bordello, indie-pop duo Mates of State, and more performing on an outdoor stage in a festival style-setting on the campus of Drexel University. Sunday will be take place at World Caf頌ive located in University City. Two stages of music will feature counter-culture genius singer/songwriter Daniel Johnston with The Capital Years, ODeath, and many others.
