The Teeth

Dear Friends,

I (Peter of the Teeth) am writing you now to tell you the truth of what has happened to The Teeth. In all honesty, and I’m sorry to say, The Teeth have broken up. To set the records straight, it didn’t happen because we weren’t “big enough” or we didn’t make enough money or we hated each other or things like that. It just happened that some members weren’t where they wanted to be in life. And some felt that the band had run it’s course and had nothing more to offer. It of course has saddened me not only because my band is gone, but because I feel like I have let down those who supported our band through the years and all the fans and friends that came to the most shitty run down shows every time we ever played them. I’ve met hundreds and hundreds of awesome people in the 7 or 8 years I’ve played in this band and it has been the biggest part of my life for that time. Now that part of my life is over and I am older and that also makes me sad.

I want to thank everyone who ever came out to a Teeth show ever. Or anyone who bought a Teeth album or downloaded it illegally or told their friends to listen to us. I want to thank everyone who ever helped us, let us stay at there house, cooked us breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. I want to thank every person that said hello to me when I obviously could not remember who they were, and every band that let us go on tour with them even if we couldn’t draw 2 people. I also wanted to thank everyone that wanted to see us live but never got a chance. I am sorry.

Also, I am sorry that we will not being playing a farewell show. First of all that would be far to emotional for me. Second of all the teeth always played explosive sets, so in some sense we simply exploded at our last show. There’s nothing left.

I want to conclude this bulletin with a statement. This is not the complete ending. Although some members of The Teeth are at least, for now (and as far as I know), done with making music, I am not done and my dear mustachioed friend Mr. Brian James Ashby is not done either.

I understand that I have a lot to live up to by trying to match up to my previous band but all I can say is that I am going to do my very best.

I hope that I get to see at least some of you again in the near future. And keep a lookout for cryptic messages about a future band with the letter “P” in the name. If you’ve gotten to know me in the last few years than you’d know I wouldn’t make a new project easy to find. I will be in touch.

Thank You VERY, VERY much,

Love
Peter C.
