Why did the free Jamie Lidell show at Summerstage have to be the same day (aka Sunday aka today aka August 3rd) as the African Festival in Prospect Park, Deerhunter and friends at McCarren Pool AND Rock the Bells at Jones Beach? Oh well. At least Jamie will be back in October to play both Highlne Ballroom and Music Hall of Williamsburg. Last time he was here he played two nights at Bowery Ballroom. “for one song the saxaphone player was playing 2 saxes at once, and then jamie had the chromeo style mic that effed up his voice so it sounded electronic. he has a really good voice, and halfway through the set he started making his own mix style songs with his laptop and mic.. making the beat boxing and layering his vocals. it was really impressive!!” [Leesha]
