After Tortoise and Thurston Moore played, Built To Spill performed Perfect From Now On to close out the “Don’t Look Back” portion of ATP in the Catskill Mountains on Friday (Sept 19)

Built to Spill inadvertently signaled the “all clear” to the soundman, Doug kinda shrugged and said “let’s just go for it”. Of course, that meant on stage technical issues plagued their set, but to the audience (and me), it had no outward effect on their performance, nor did it change the sheer emotional power behind the songs on Perfect From Now On. Great way to start the weekend, and I would say if you are a fan of the record and missed this show, catching them at Terminal 5 is a must. Hell, maybe I’ll go.

After the show, the party came alive in the multiple lounges and especially The Deep End, a gawdy 70s-style disco with a DJ until closing time (6AM). With a view of the pool, it was only logical that a few people in The Deep End reportedly found their way into the pool after 6AM for a skinny-dip.
