Largehearted Boy's Interesting CD Releases This Week
Dressy Bessy releases its fourth album, Hollerandstomp tomorrow, yet another classic collection of hook-y pop gems from the band.
A couple of other discs stand out among the week’s music releases. Cory Chisel’s Cabin Ghosts EP is reissued and well worth picking up for anyone who missed its limited summer release. Jessica Lea Mayfield’s With Blasphemy, So Heartfelt is an impressive debut from the 18 year-old singer-songwriter who has drawn comparisons to Mazzy Star and Neko Case.
Other discs I have heard and can recommend this week include Amanda Palmer’s (of the Dresden Dolls) Who Killed Amanda Palmer, venerable songwriter Charlie Louvin’s Steps to Heaven, Dead Confederate’s Wrecking Ball, James’ Hey Ma, Passion Pit’s Chunk of Change, and War Tapes’ self-titled EP.

The new Streets album, The Streets: Everything Is Borrowed is released in the UK today, and sees its US release on October 7th.
If you have children, Lisa Loeb’ kids album, Camp Lisa, might be worth checking out.
Reissues available this week include vinyl editions of Damon & Naomi’s More Sad Hits (remastered) and Daniel Johnston’s 1990/Artistic Vice
