The Damned - 2008 Tour Dates (New Years Eve in NYC)

Is it too early to be planning your New Years? I know we already talked about a few New Years Eve shindigs… so add this one to your list. English goth punk pioneers The Damned announced a six-date east coast tour with Theo & the Skyscrapers and Electric Frankenstein and that includes a pair of shows at the Gramercy in NYC including one on New Years Eve (tickets are on sale). The second NYC show is the previous day, Dec 30th, but tickets aren’t on sale yet – maybe they’ll only actually play it if December 31st sells out.

The east coast tour is proceeded by a UK tour which is preceeded by a west coast tour. Sandwiched smack in the middle of those UK dates is a performance at the previously-mentioned ATP Nightmare Before Christmas curated by Melvins & Mike Patton and featuring The Melvins, Big Business (shock!), The Locust, Isis, and even Fantomas performing The Director’s Cut in its entirety.

The Damned recently completed their new studio album, with drummer Pinch documenting the proceedings on his myspace account. The record, entitled So, Who’s Paranoid?, is due Nov 13th. Pick it up here.
