Shilpa Ray & Her Happy Hookers have a new LP on the way called Teenage & Torture, but it won’t surface until Jan 11, 2011 (via Knitting Factory Records). So to sate your taste for everything-Hookers, Shilpa Ray will release the new 7″ Venus Shaver, on sale in mid-October. The 7″ features the title track (downloadable above) and a b-side called “Natural Selection”. Check it out.
In the meantime Shilpa Ray will take her act out for a pair of (known) CMJ shindigs, the Distiller showcase on 10/22 at Knitting Factory and the Windish showcase on 10/23 at Arlene’s Grocery. On the non-CMJ tip, Shila Ray will also hit Pianos on 11/3 with Hooray for Earth, Arpline, and Zambri.
The Pianos show is part of a residency for Hooray for Earth who has different openers on four November shows at the LES venue. Tickets are on sale for all of them.
