Jens Lekman completed his three-show US run, that started at the Mondrian Hotel in LA, at the “Green Building” on Union Street in Brooklyn on Friday night, 12/10. Like the night before at the same unique venue, Victoria Bergsman DJ’d before Jens went on, Jens told lots of stories, played the new Kirsten Dunst song, played two encores, had drummer Charlie Hall (War On Drugs, Lindsay Buckingham Appreciation Society, The Silver Ages, etc…..) from Philly accompanying him, and promised to play requested songs for audience members personally after the show (did he?). The new songs were nice, but the highest points of the show definitely came during older favorites like “Black Cab” and “The Opposite of Hallelujah.” The surprise addition of Kyle Forester of Ladybug Transistor on sax on Friday night was great too.
