The Muffs are here (win tickets)

The Muffs

“After the disbanding of the Pandoras, Shattuck and Vammen formed the Muffs with drummer Criss Crass and bassist Ronnie Barnett. After two singles for indies Sub Pop and Sympathy for the Record Industry, which generated a large underground buzz, the Muffs were picked up by Warner Bros. and subsequently released their powerful eponymous debut album in 1993. Shortly after, Crass left the group and was replaced temporarily for the tour.” [AllMusic]

The Muffs (Kim Shattuck, Ronnie Barnett and Roy McDonald according to Wikipedia), are, as Bill pointed out, in town for the weekend. Catch them tonight, Friday, 1/28 at The Bell House in Brooklyn with Muck and the Mires (tickets), or check them out Saturday night at Maxwell’s with Paul Collins Beat (tickets).

Want to go to one of the shows for free? Details on how to win a pair of tickets can be found under the very-short-tour poster below.

Kaboodle, a new Muffs compilation album, was released on 1/17 on Cherry Red.
