Reverb-drenched shoegaze, 70s-riffery and the slow-burn of Low converge on the latest True Widow, a Dallas band whose new LP As High As The Highest Heavens And From The Center To The Circumference Of The Earth, via Kemado. The record is currently up for preorder and features “NH” and “Skull Eyes”, the former of which premieres in this post. Download both above, or stream them below.
True Widow will be at SXSW, logging time at the Kemado showcase at Valhalla on 3/17 (with new-look Zoroaster, Rwake, Christian Mistress, and many others), and at the Thrasher Deathmatch party at Scoot Inn on 3/19. In May they hit the road with Trail of Dead and Surfer Blood which brings them to NYC twice: Bowery Ballroom on 4/29 and Music Hall of Williamsburg on 5/13.
Surfer Blood are also playing SXSW, including the free BrooklynVegan party Wednesday at Emo’s, and Trail of Dead will be in Austin too. You can catch them at our free Saturday party at Swan Dive/Barbarella.
