Just BLAAAAAAZE. The hip hop producer Justin Smith aka Just Blaze, best known for hemming tracks on classic Jay-Z albums, and more recently providing the beat for Drake’s “Lord Knows,” among many other things, will be in NYC this week for a 1992 party at Santos Party House on June 21 with Jasmine Solano and Kasey Berry. The party is in celebration of Smoke DZA‘s new album, Rugby Thompson (which you can stream in full below), but no word of whether or not DZA will be making an appearance. Just Blaze doesn’t appear to have much else in the way of live appearances, but he’ll be in NYC again on August 25 for Warm Up at PS1 with Danny Brown, BAIO (of Vampire Weekend), Nick Catchdubs, and The Stallions. Tickets for that show are on sale now.

In other classic hip hop producer news, Pete Rock will be DJing with special guests at 20th birthday celebration of his 1992 LP with CL Smooth, Mecca and the Soul Brother, at Le Poisson Rouge on June 30. Tickets for that show are on sale now.
