James Murphy trying his hand at directing, needs your help

James Murphy, having conquered the music world, is now turning to film. The former LCD Soundsystem frontman is one of five “celebrity directors” involved in the second-annual Project Imagination, an online short film project from Ron Howard and camera/tech conglomerate Canon. Using pictures submitted by the public as inspiration, the five directors will then make short films under the mentorship of Howard (maker of Splash, Parenthood and A Beautiful Mind, amongst others). The other directors besides Murphy are Eva Longoria, Twitter mogul Biz Stone, Jamie Foxx, and Georgina Chapman.

Meanwhile, the LCD Soundsystem movie Shut Up and Play the Hits will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on October 9.
