“if you play a show and it’s not mind-numbingly loud what is the point” – Cloud Nothings
Silversun Pickups/Cloud Nothings
Silversun Pickups took their tour with Cloud Nothings to NYC this week for shows at Terminal 5 on Sunday night (10/14) and Monday night (10/15). Silversun Pickups played mostly off of their new album, Neck of the Woods, though of course included their popular singles from the last decade like “Lazy Eye.” Cloud Nothings weren’t exactly the most fitting opener for the band, and we can’t say they pleased all SSPU fans but they brought it nonetheless. As Matthew Levine for CMJ put it, they “[transformed] several audience members in the crowd into dancing rag dolls with limbs flailing all over.” Tourmates Atlas Genius opened both shows as well.
Pictures, videos, and the setlist from night 1 are below. Pics of night 2 are coming soon.
