Kendrick Lamar announces tour, playing Day 1 of Downtown Fest, collaborating w/ Miguel

Like Pitchfork, we got excited when we saw Miguel Instagram the above photo of himself yesterday with Kendrick Lamar (who played Jimmy Kimmel last night). Pitchfork points out, “Kendrick will be on an upcoming remix of Miguel’s “How Many Drinks” off last year’s Kaleidoscope Dream.” That should be good.

Meanwhile, the Black Hippy rapper, who we just caught at SXSW, also just announced a tour that has him playing a ton of schools and NYC twice. Both NYC shows we already knew about, but now we have a drop more info. Kendrick’s dates confirm that he plays the just-announced Downtown Music Festival on May 10. That’s the first night of the two night Lower East Side fest, and one night before Kendrick heads south to play Sweetlife. Lamar, who played two shows at Roseland recently, returns to NYC in June for Governors Ball.
