When Sarah Versprille and Daniel HIndman aren’t making pastoral folk in their band, Vetiver, they’re off working as a duo on their new dream pop project, Pure Bathing Culture. And when I say dream pop, it’s because the band have all the dreamy atmospherics to earn them that title, but they’re definitely have more pop ambitions than many of their twee peers. They contributed the cover of Fleetwood Mac‘s “Dreams” to last year’s Rumours tribute album, and couldn’t have picked a more appropriate song, if that gives you an idea.
Last year, the duo released their self-titled debut EP, and now they’re set to put out their debut full length, Moon Tides, on August 20 via Partisan in the US and a day earlier via Memphis Industries in the UK. You can download the new album’s very catchy single, “Pendulum,” above, or stream it along with streams of all four tracks from their EP, below.
Pure Bathing Culture are currently on a tour which brings the band to NYC TONIGHT (6/7) at Mercury Lounge for a show with Monogold. Tickets are available.
